Do you have a passion for helping young people? Are you skilled at engaging with young people and their families? Can you stay calm and confident in busy acute settings? Are you interested in development opportunities and high-quality training? If so, we would love to hear from you!

Dorset CAMHS has launched a new Enhanced Support and Liaison team operating within three Acute Hospitals and across the community, offering enhanced support to young people and their families in times of crisis. This service provides comprehensive mental health assessments and short-term crisis interventions to support young people in crisis and help them achieve stability.

This team already has an experienced and skilled workforce, and we are seeking energetic, passionate, and experienced staff to join us as we expand to build a well-supported, clinically skilled team across Dorset. We are investing heavily in training to ensure all staff have the tools needed to operate safely and confidently with young people.

While experience working with young people is required, training on assessment, management, and treatment of crisis will be provided during induction, along with supervision from clinical and operational managers. The role involves offering high-quality mental health assessments and clinical formulations for young people and families referred from various settings, both in hospitals and in the community.

Ensuring high standards of clinical practice when working with all young people and their families/carers is essential. You will liaise with relevant agencies to deliver care and provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children, young people, and their families within the team. You will collaborate with colleagues within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to ensure comprehensive care packages and make recommendations regarding admission and discharge based on analysis of presenting problems under supervision.

This role is primarily community-focused across Dorset. We support flexible working, including a hybrid of home and site working across Dorset and at the three hospitals. The service operates from 8am to 9pm, 7 days a week, offering scope for weekend work, enhancements, and flexible shifts, including early or late shifts.

At Dorset HealthCare, we aim to empower people through outstanding, integrated healthcare services. We are a forward-looking Trust serving nearly 800,000 people, with 12 community hospitals, inpatient facilities, and a wide range of mental health services. We pride ourselves on our outstanding CQC rating, high patient satisfaction, and staff engagement. We embrace diversity and promote an inclusive workplace where everyone can be authentic and strive to be their best.

Joining us means being part of a strong team, challenging yourself, building a career, and helping us improve daily through excellence, compassion, and expertise.
