Chief Underwriting Officer

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO). The role is working for an established global insurer in our clients London underwriting team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in underwriting, operations and commercial insurance.RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and execute the underwriting strategy to achieve company goals and objectivesLead and mentor a team of underwriters, providing guidance and support in complex risk assessment and pricing decisionsCollaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of underwriting processes with overall business operationsOversee the development and implementation of underwriting guidelines, policies, and proceduresMonitor underwriting performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvementStay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and innovation in underwriting practicesQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred10+ years of experience in underwriting and commercial insurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership roleProven track record of developing and implementing successful underwriting strategiesStrong knowledge of underwriting operations, risk assessment, and pricing modelsExcellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skillsUnderstanding of industry regulations and compliance requirementsDAY-TO-DAYCollaborate with senior leadership to set underwriting strategy and goalsProvide leadership and guidance to underwriting team membersReview and approve complex underwriting decisionsAnalyse underwriting performance metrics and develop action plans for improvementStay updated on industry developments and best practices in underwritingIf you have the relevant experience or know someone that does please contact us now on 0203 727 2314 or email us at admin@lawesgroup.co.uk #J-18808-Ljbffr
