As part of our plans to evolve and grow our business we are now looking for a Senior Wholesale New Business Developer for our Care Wholesale and New Business segments within our Direct Business area. The role will involve business development working with a range of brokers and placing risks with brokers on our delegated authority schemes. You will report to the Wholesale Manager. The role will be based from Croydon, some travel to other sites may be required from time to time. You and your team will provide broking services to new and existing customers over the phone and by email. As part of the Direct Advisory area you will ensure that best practice and sector knowledge is shared across the team and Advisory area.
This role is for you if you have a background delivering high levels of customer service and you have experience of commercial insurances, relationship management and underwriting.
What will you do in this role:
- Support the departments control environment, protecting customers, staff and the business from poor practice
- Providing technical expertise and support to both internal and external customers
- Being part of, engaging and collaborating with the team
- Workflow management within the team, prioritising appropriately and in line with customer and department needs and using all available MI to maintain and track performance
- Performance management of the account to meet all business KPI’s for productivity, income, customer satisfaction and quality
- Provide appropriate control environment to protect against financial crime and actively minimise debt exposure
- To positively contribute to team meetings and hold regular meetings with own team to positively share relevant information and obtain team feedback
- To produce management information, including but not restricted to team trading performance as required
- To quote new business to brokers including network members within a delegated authority scheme within binder limits
- To prospect with brokers including network members for new business that we do not hold
- To build up relationships with network BDM’s as well as network members

- Experience of working within a regulated financial services environment
- A strong general insurance knowledge and experience
- Understanding of operational processing and ability to optimise and prioritise to deliver for customers and business
