We are thrilled to be supporting a fantastic NHS Pathology Service in their search for a dedicated Consultant Microbiologist. This is a unique chance to join a collaborative and forward-thinking team.

You will be joining a team of four Consultant Microbiologists and three Infectious Disease Consultants, working together to provide comprehensive clinical Microbiology and Infectious Disease services across the Trusts served by the Pathology Service. This role, based at the Trust's main site, is offered on a full-time basis (up to 11.5 PA). However, we encourage individuals seeking a more flexible working pattern to apply, as the Trust is open to discussions to support a positive work-life balance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be an integral part of a well-organised clinical microbiology team, actively participating in ward rounds and multi-disciplinary team meetings.
  • Both Trusts boast robust Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship teams, with microbiologists and ID physicians playing key roles.
  • The clinical microbiology service is supported by a modern, well-equipped automated laboratory and a highly skilled technical team.

  • To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must be registered with the General Medical Council in the United Kingdom and appear on the Specialist Register to practice in Microbiology.
