About the Role

We are seeking a Commercial Schemes Underwriter to join a major name in the Insurance industry. This role involves assessing a mixed portfolio or risks and underwriting commercial insurance schemes, ensuring profitability while maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients. You will play a key role in developing tailored insurance solutions that align with business objectives and market trends.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwriting & Risk Assessment: Evaluate and underwrite commercial insurance schemes, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines.
• Portfolio Management: Monitor scheme performance, adjusting pricing and coverage as needed to maintain profitability.
• Broker & Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients, providing expert advice and support.
• Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes to enhance underwriting strategies.
• Policy Development: Assist in designing and refining insurance schemes to meet evolving business and customer needs.
• Claims & Compliance: Work closely with claims teams to assess risk exposure and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in commercial insurance underwriting, preferably within schemes.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment, pricing models, and policy structures.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients.
• Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office.
