We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Federal Business Development Leader to lead and grow our business within the U.S. Federal Government and Military sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering-based solutions, federal procurement processes, and relationship management at high levels within the U.S. federal sector.
This pivotal role is responsible for managing key national accounts, cultivating strategic partnerships, driving significant revenue growth, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, all in alignment with UES' ambitious strategic objectives. Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic account plans for major Federal and Military accounts (e.g., DoD, DHS, VA, Army Corps of Engineers and related contractors).
- Identify, pursue, and capture new business/teaming opportunities within assigned accounts, including direct federal contracts and partnerships with prime contractors & SBA/8A/MBE/WBE/VSOB/VBE entities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for federal and military customers, acting as a trusted advisor and liaison between the customer and internal teams.
- Stay informed on federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS), contract vehicles (GSA, IDIQ, BPA), and funding cycles.
- Regularly track, analyze, and report on business development activities, sales forecasts, and pipeline health to regional and executive leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned to advance the strategic growth of UES.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Construction Management, Environmental Sciences, Archaeology, Biology or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of business development experience leading Federal Pursuits, preferably within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Consulting) or related industries.
- Deep understanding of U.S. federal procurement practices and key contracting vehicles.
- Proven leadership building a successful business in Federal work.
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical, environmental, construction materials testing, and related consulting services.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage a broad geographic territory and adapt strategies to different local markets.
- Willingness to travel within the US (30-50%).
