About The Role
We are seeking a Junior HR Generalist for a fixed-term contract to establish, drive, and support the local HR Monks operations and people strategy. You will have full accountability and responsibility for supporting both the UK and Ireland, whilst having support from the wider EMEA HR Team. You will use your knowledge of HR best practice, employment law, and commercial awareness, and possess a flexible and empathetic approach to our employee population.
You will work with the HR Business Partner to help provide a full HR operational advisory service to the business across the whole of the UK and Ireland. This is a broad generalist role encompassing day-to-day HR and focusing on people management capability and employee lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy and varied role where you will need to be able to build relationships with employees and managers across the whole business. This role is hybrid working with three days in the office and two days working from home.
Responsibilities
- Manage all stages of the employee life-cycle from onboarding to induction, to development and support to offboarding and termination.
- Be the first point of contact for our employees, providing advice across all areas of ER including: absence management, dispute resolution, performance management, disciplinary, mediation, maternity leave, paternity leave, and flexible working.
- Manage and maintain HR ticketing service.
- Liaising with the Payroll specialists on a monthly basis, to capture any employment changes. Keeping payroll up to date and accurate.
- Knowledge and experience in creating HR analytics to be shared on a monthly basis.
- Collaborate with the HR Business Partner to determine best practices and implement people processes regionally.
- Collaborate with employees to ensure Monks culture is embodied through the entire employee lifecycle.
- Support the EMEA People Operations strategy, working closely with the EMEA HR Generalists.
- Management of the People ticketing system for local questions.
- Build close-knit and trusted working relationships both internally and externally.
- Maintain accurate records, and generate reports as required.
- Support general administration and any ad-hoc projects.
About You
The essentials:
- 2+ years of experience working within an HR/People Operations function.
- A strong understanding of the advertising agency environment.
- Essential hands-on, end-to-end experience of managing the employee lifecycle.
- Experience in supporting and leading lower-level ER cases.
- Team player and self-starter with an unbreakable positive mindset.
- The natural ability to build strong cross-departmental relationships at all levels.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms (Workday preferred).
- Superb organisational skills.
- Familiar with working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Empathetic and pragmatic when balancing the needs of the business with the general well-being of our Monks employees.
- An understanding of UK and Ireland employment law is preferable.
