We are looking for an experienced and proactive Safety Engineer to help drive safety excellence in the design and delivery of advanced maritime products. In this role, you'll shape safety strategies from concept through lifecycle support and ensure engineering teams embed robust safety standards in every phase of development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product safety for complex maritime systems from design to delivery
- Ensure safety is integrated at every stage of the lifecycle
- Guide teams on safety compliance with legislation and customer standards
- Manage and maintain safety management systems and documentation
- Deliver risk assessments, safety cases, and technical reports
- Work across teams to resolve safety issues and improve processes
Requirements
- Strong experience in Product Safety Engineering within complex systems
- Knowledge of safety standards (e.g. HASAWA, COSHH, REACH, Def Stan 00-056, BS EN 61508)
- Degree in Engineering, Systems, or a related field
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working toward it
- Member of a professional body (e.g. SaRS, IET, IMechE, SCSC)
