Our client is a Wholesale business that is rapidly growing and has ambitions over the next few years to grow the business, and the Finance Manager will play a key part in supporting these ambitions. This role is ideal for an inspirational leader with a proven track record as a Finance Manager, particularly in wholesale, retail, grocery, B2B or B2C environments. What does the role involve?
As the Finance Manager, you will report directly to the Senior Financial Controller and take a proactive role in managing and developing the Finance team to ensure the highest standards of accounts and reconciliation, compliance, and efficiencies by challenging the status quo and bringing new ideas in where appropriate. You will oversee a small team, manage the accounts, balance sheet and ensure accurate and timely processing and payment of AP ledger transactions, whilst overseeing the credit control function of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsibility & day to day management for a finance team of 4, supporting the Senior FC with the budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Production of monthly management accounts and analysis of variances.
- Responsibility for the monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
- Maintenance of the fixed asset register.
- Ensuring the accurate and timely processing & payment of AP ledger transactions.
- Overseeing the posting of cash sale transactions and daily cash reconciliations.
- Processing & review of all month end journals.
- Assist with integration of a new CRM system.
What qualities will you need to be successful?
- Experience in managing and developing colleagues in a fast-moving environment and taking the team with you.
- Strong excel skills including Pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs.
- A proactive “can-do” approach whilst being comfortable discussing financial principles with non-financial staff.
- The ability to challenge opinions and interrogate company data.
- Experience in analysing large amounts of data and making recommendations following the analysis.
You will ideally have FMCG experience in a finance capacity that is Part or Qualified CIMA or ACCA, with at least 2-5 years’ experience with leading colleagues. A knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics would also be beneficial.
