Daytime Healthcare are assisting a high-end Ophthalmology Clinic in Marylebone who are seeking a Nurse Associate to join their team. This will initially be likely for 12 months fixed term, with a view to becoming a permanent position.
Ophthalmic placement experience is preferred, however full training is available. This position is mainly Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Support (Nursing Assistant Duties)
- Act as a runner in the Operating Room, assisting with stock preparation, patient transfers, and theatre logistics (non-scrub role)
- Support nurses with administrative duties including patient notes, ordering, and maintaining clinical supplies
- Prepare and chaperone patients for laser refractive and intraocular surgeries
- Assist with post-operative checks and follow-up care appointments
- Administer pre-approved eye drops and medication under supervision and in line with local protocols
- Provide information to patients regarding post-op instructions (following approved scripts/checklists)
- Escalate any clinical queries or concerns appropriately to registered staff
- Perform diagnostic tests such as OCT, visual fields, topography, tonometry, and fundus photography (full training provided)
- Ensure accurate data entry and imaging capture for clinician review
- Prepare equipment and testing rooms before and after patient use
- Support the flow of patients through the diagnostic process
