Job Title: Commercial Gas Service Engineer
Location: Ipswich / Greater London / A12 Corridor and surrounding areas
About the Role:
The Commercial Gas Service Engineer will handle installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair services across various commercial sites. Covering Ipswich, Greater London, and the A12 corridor, this role requires expertise in commercial gas systems and a commitment to high standards of quality and safety. The engineer will work autonomously while maintaining strong communication with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure efficient and reliable service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs of commercial gas systems on-site, adhering to project specifications and safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all gas safety regulations and relevant building codes.
- Deliver projects efficiently, aiming for high-quality work completed on time and on budget.
- Provide solutions for technical issues, maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Promote a positive, safety-focused work environment and uphold professional standards.
Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ):
- Follow all applicable health, safety, and environmental standards on-site, ensuring personal and team safety at all times.
- Identify and report any potential hazards to site supervisors, maintaining equipment in safe working condition.
- Participate in safety talks, plant checks, and regularly assess potential site risks.
- Ensure compliance with safety instructions and the site Health and Safety Plan.
Planning and Efficiency:
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications, staying updated on any project revisions.
- Manage tools, equipment, and material requirements, communicating any needs to supervisors.
- Complete work records and documentation within company systems to support smooth project workflows.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 technical qualification (Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 preferred) and/or Gas Safe registered.
- Valid CSCS card and a full, clean UK driving license.
- Demonstrated experience with commercial gas systems, preferably in a site-based role.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with health and safety practices and ability to conduct basic risk assessments.
