We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Assurance & Solution Portfolio Manager to join our dynamic Solutions Development Team. In this pivotal role, you will be accountable for the delivery of all technical assurance and solution management activities within SSCL Government. You will collaborate with Directors and Heads of Functions to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive efficiencies.

Your responsibilities will include managing the pipeline of tasks, overseeing technical assurance of change requests, CI projects, live support services, and quarterly releases across all platforms. Additionally, you will oversee the technical and changes teams, ensuring they align with our organisational goals. This is a Hybrid working role, with travel to either one of the following UK sites: Newcastle, Newport or York.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage risks and issues with third parties and customers, ensuring full impact is understood and mitigations are agreed upon.
  • Take accountability for the delivery of initiatives across all functions within Government.
  • Take accountability for live service support across all functions such as HR, Payroll, Finance, and Expenses.
  • Ensure any proof of concept has been test assured and proven prior to implementation, with all formal documentation in place.
  • Ensure live service support is provided to all service lines on initiatives developed and implemented by the solution manager.
  • Liaise with Directors and Heads of service to drive forward internal initiatives and quantify efficiencies.
  • Liaise with change portfolio managers to ensure customer priorities for delivery of change are planned accordingly in each release.

  • Sound knowledge of test release schedules and planned maintenance of all Oracle Platforms.

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Newcastle (ideally), York or Newport

Security Clearance Level: SC or eligible to obtain

Salary: £60K

Benefits: £5,400 car allowance, 25 days annual leave with the option to buy additional days, private medical, life assurance, pension, and generous flexible benefits fund.
