Darlington - Hybrid working between Darlington and home. Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw) Salary ÂŁ25,838 per annum, with great benefits including Health Cash Plan.

This is a great opportunity for a Housing Management Coordinator to join our team here in Darlington STEP. As our housing and property expert, you’ll focus on tenancy support for our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. You’ll provide a housing management service, supporting tenants to manage and sustain their tenancies and rent accounts, with the aim of helping them maintain stable accommodation.

Typical day as a Housing Management Coordinator:

  • Supporting customers with mental health and complex needs.
  • Ensuring that our 15 customer properties are safe and well-maintained, engaging and involving customers in their tenancies.
  • Assisting customers with housing benefit claims and ensuring these are reflected on their rent accounts.
  • Issuing and signing warning letters and notices when necessary, including attending court if required.
  • Preparing properties for new tenants and ensuring vacant or void properties are turned around within set timescales.
  • Ensuring health and safety compliance and maintenance standards are met.

You bring:

  • Experience managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord and housing duties.
  • Knowledge of re-letting rooms or units, rent collection, and formal tenancy actions.
  • Ability to take a lead role within the team, offering guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently, positively influencing people from diverse backgrounds.
  • A proactive, well-organized, “can do” attitude, capable of working on your own initiative.
  • Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.

Job details:

  • Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
  • Based at our Darlington service, with travel around properties.
  • Proficient in using technology for support plans, benefit claims, and tenancy sign-ups.
  • Must have a vehicle insured for business purposes; mileage paid.
  • Enhanced DBS check required; we cover the cost.
