Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Emergency Department at RWJUH Rahway Hospital, located at 865 Stone Street, Rahway, NJ 07065.
Job Overview: Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway offers comprehensive outpatient services, including wound care, hyperbaric medicine, pulmonary rehab, cardiac rehab, therapy services, incontinence treatment, diabetes management, weight-loss programs, neuropathy treatment, balance testing, sleep services, and partnerships with Kindred Hospital New Jersey and Care Connection for rehabilitative care. Our emergency department serves over 32,000 patients annually, providing expert care for cardiac, neurologic, and orthopedic emergencies. As a Primary Stroke Center with 24/7 telemedicine, we feature state-of-the-art facilities, Fast Track minor emergency services, and comprehensive stroke and cardiac care, with amenities like wireless bedside registration, advanced radiology, and comfortable patient and family areas.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Minimum one (1) year of critical care experience, ED preferred
- ASN or Nursing Diploma
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- BLS through American Heart Association upon hire
- ACLS Certification upon hire
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License or active Compact RN License with New Jersey endorsement
Scheduling Requirements: Night Shift, Monday through Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation.
Essential Functions:
- Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, adhering to ethical standards as per ANA code of ethics.
- Ensure safety in practice, maintain awareness of personal knowledge and experience, and promote ongoing learning within the patient care team.
- Report safety issues and medical errors promptly.
- Maintain knowledge of the patient population served.
- Supervise and delegate tasks appropriately, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
- Prioritize and evaluate interventions with measurable outcomes for improvement.
- Utilize the nursing process to individualize patient care plans, managing the interdisciplinary team effectively.
