Haematology Cancer Services is seeking an enthusiastic and bright individual who enjoys working in a busy, friendly, multi-disciplinary team environment. In this role, you will be working as a Ward Administrator on our Haematology Wards. You will also be required to cover our busy main reception in the Grafton Way Building on an ad-hoc basis. Delivering quality service is at the forefront of our operations. Therefore, excellent customer service skills and a calm, can-do attitude are crucial. This role offers the chance to join a friendly, professional, supportive team.

The successful applicant will be self-motivated and able to work autonomously, performing administrative duties such as:

  • Admitting patients into our patient information system, EPIC
  • Uploading medical documents and clinical correspondence
  • Collecting inpatient notes
  • Supporting patient discharges
  • Providing administrative support to clinical staff

Attention to the ward and reception surroundings is essential, along with responsibilities like raising minor repair notifications as needed. Additionally, you will provide cross-cover for other ward administrators during leave or busy periods to ensure consistent service delivery.

This is a permanent full-time role with a 37.5-hour workweek. Shift patterns for the main reception include an early shift (7:00 am – 3:30 pm), a late shift (11:30 am – 7:30 pm), and a regular shift (9:00 am – 5:00 pm). Weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. When working on the wards, hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
