Overview: An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shift Manager to join a high-performing industrial operations team based in Hampshire. In this role, you will lead plant operations on a rotating shift basis, ensuring compliance, safety, and performance standards are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate daily plant operations during assigned shifts
- Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation of plant systems and equipment
- Work closely with the remote operations centre to optimise production output
- Issue and control Permits to Work and monitor contractor activity for compliance
- Review production and shift reports to identify performance improvement opportunities
- Conduct routine inspections of plant assets and raise maintenance work orders
- Respond to emergency situations and abnormal operating conditions
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety excellence across the shift team
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Completed apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or process engineering
- Prior experience in a continuous process or industrial manufacturing environment
- Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental practices
- Effective communicator and confident decision-maker under pressure
- Proactive, organised, and a strong planner
- Experience in petrochemical, refining, or a related industrial sector is highly desirable
