Procurement – Senior Category Manager Food (progression to Head of Procurement within 2 years) – LEADING FOOD SERVICES FIRM – £85,000 + Bonus + Benefits – REMOTE WITH TRAVEL With over 150,000 employees spanning 5 continents, this prestigious Fortune 100 Blue Chip firm is a force to be reckoned within the Food Services space, and with aggressive expansion plans towards 2025, now is an exciting time to join. These expansion plans have led to an influx of investment in best practice procurement, and as a result the firm is seeking a highly experienced sourcing & category management specialist to join the Procurement Leadership Team within the Food category. Reporting into the Head of Procurement (Food), the successful candidate will enjoy the following challenges:- To lead a sourcing strategy across UK&I covering both technical and quality requirements for the service line requirements Design and Implement category strategies which significantly improve the commercial performance at a regional level whilst maintaining compliance to company policy and standards and mitigating all risk Build a strong network within the Supply Management both at regional and global Improve profitability by optimizing agreements and alignment with global Managing a team of 3 experienced Category Managers Identifying sustainable, long term savings opportunities through the strategy creation process, identifying and exploring all potential value levers Creating compelling business cases for change aligned and in collaboration with the Procurement Leadership Team Working closely with and learning directly from the Head of Procurement, with a clear progression plan for the successful candidate Required experience, skills & qualifications:- Strong experience in Buying/ Category Management within Food is a must (> 7/8 years) Retail industry experience is beneficial for the role Ability in working in a multi-cultural and matrix environment Proven-track records in complex contract negotiation Graduate calibre with CIPS/ISM or equivalent qualification preferred This prestigious multinational FTSE 100 firm is renowned for developing and promoting internal talent, so this newly created position promises rapid personal growth for the successful applicant.
