What You'll Bring: We’re looking for a Engineer - Development to join our growing team. The focus of this role will be the design, maintenance and programming of our 2 tracing products. The role will be responsible for ensuring development is carried out to the department policy, procedures and technical/process standards. You'll be working on new and existing features in SQL Server and SSIS.
Day To Day You’ll Be:
- Escalates blockers to the Senior Software Developer when necessary
- Undertakes iterative developments of the deployable solution
- Develop to agreed milestones and ensure project runs in accordance to a set of targets
- Adheres to technical constraints
- Participates in quality assurance to ensure products are fit for purpose
- Tests own output prior to independent testing
- Develop against agreed tasks, to the timescales estimated
- Maintain a high technical standard personally
- Actively participate in project tasks, following own standards
- Investigating and resolving errors
- Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
- Designs, tests and/or implements products or systems
- Solves a range of straightforward problems
- Analyses possible solutions using standard procedures
- Have exposure to, and the option to become experienced with an array of existing technologies
- Maintains team process and procedures
- Provides input into technical design documents/design/implementation
Essential Skills & Experience:
- You have excellent knowledge of SQL
- You want to maintain high quality and good practices
- You have proven experience developing data solutions using SSIS and SQL Server
- You have a curiosity for new technologies and techniques
- You have a good understanding of version control practices
- You are familiar with ETL concepts
- Experience of working in a technical environment
- Familiar with Agile ways of working
