What You’ll Do

  • As a Financial Senior Technical Product Manager, you will be a leader in shaping the future of Kraken's financial products. This is a highly influential individual contributor role focused on driving product excellence.
  • You will combine deep technical insight with strategic product management expertise to design and deliver groundbreaking solutions for utilities on a global scale, impacting millions of customers.
  • You will play a critical role in driving the success of Kraken's billing initiatives by combining strategic thinking, product management expertise and data driven decision-making.
  • As a billing product manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and management of complex billing processes, ensuring accurate billing for different types of clients across various markets.
  • You’ll ensure our systems are not only robust and scalable but also innovative.

Main duties

  • Strategy Development: Work closely with different stakeholders across the business (delivery, sales, other product teams etc.) to define and refine the product strategy for complex billing solutions. This involves understanding customer needs, market trends and operational challenges, ensuring it meets business objectives and regulatory requirements across different markets.
  • Product Development: Oversee the development, implementation and continuous improvement of scalable and resilient billing processes and systems. Closely collaborate with engineering, delivery and other product teams to enhance core billing capabilities and address evolving market needs.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Design and monitor status dashboards, identify trends, inefficiencies and potential risks together with engineering. Leverage a deep technical understanding of data structures to use data-driven insights to improve billing accuracy, reduce errors and enhance the overall customer experience. Share regular reporting with key stakeholders.
  • Technology Evaluation: Stay up-to-date with relevant technologies, automation tools and industry best practices. Assess new solutions to enhance product accuracy, efficiency and compliance. Manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners where relevant, driving technical innovation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other teams within the organisation, including delivery, sales, engineering and other product teams across the company. Act as the bridge between highly technical teams and senior business stakeholders to deliver effective and complex billing solutions.
  • Delivery Solutions & Implementation: Own the successful delivery of billing solutions, ensuring they are implemented effectively and meet business needs. Proactively follow up with stakeholders, track progress and confirm solutions are working as expected. Support configuration for specific client requirements, address any gaps, and oversee a smooth handover.

What You’ll Need

  • Proven experience of 8+ years in a product management role within a product-led tech company, with a track record of successfully developing and launching complex, high-impact technical products and operational processes.
  • You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, comfortable with ambiguity and constant change.
  • Deep and essential experience in financial systems (e.g., billing, payments or debt management), particularly in managing complex operational processes, data integrity and regulatory compliance within these domains.
  • An in-depth technical understanding, allowing you to dive into complex architectures, challenge technical decisions and collaborate deeply with engineers.
  • Experience with programming concepts, database structures (e.g., SQL), and distributed systems is highly valued.
  • Strong strategic thinking, have a growth mindset and vision-setting abilities, with the capability to align product strategy with business goals and market dynamics.
  • Deep understanding of Product Management methodologies, agile development practices and user-centred design principles.
  • Practical experience with common product management tools used for workflow management and documentation (e.g., Asana, Jira, Notion) is essential.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse, global teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organisation, including very senior technical and business leaders.
  • To be curious and a great listener - fantastic ideas come from everywhere in Kraken, so you’ll need to be able to spot and harness them.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to interact with people with varying levels of technical knowledge. Fluency in English is a must.
  • Experience in leading initiatives, influencing outcomes, and mentoring others, even without direct people management responsibilities. Your leadership will be focused on guiding the product and its strategy to success.
  • Experience in the energy market and proficiency in other languages relevant to Kraken's global markets (e.g., Japanese, Spanish, German).
