As the contract FLT Instructor/Training Manager, you will be an experienced trainer to deliver training to our employees on a range of powered trucks. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for teaching and who is ready to share their knowledge and experience with new forklift operators.
Your primary responsibility will be to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of forklifts across our contract with a large distribution/warehousing client. You will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of safety, compliance, and skill development amongst our forklift operators.
Main Duties:
- Design, develop and deliver training programs for forklift operators, covering both theoretical and practical aspects as well as educating operators on basic maintenance checks and procedures for the equipment they will be required to operate.
- Be the L&D lead for FLT across the contract, developing and maintaining a training matrix of all FLT operators, scheduling in medicals and refresher courses as required.
- Work with Site Managers to ensure they have sufficient trained FLT operators and schedule training with the FLT trainers on the contract.
- Maintain and promote exceptional health and safety standards.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and safety standards to incorporate into future training materials.
- Provide individualised coaching and feedback to operators to improve their skills and ensure they are proficient in operating forklifts safely and efficiently on-site.
Due to the geography of the sites on this contract, a base location in the Midlands area would be most appropriate. Regular national travel will be required with overnight stays where necessary and flexibility in working hours due to shift workers on the contract.
