The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

SRG are excited to be partnered with a global organisation who are at the forefront of health and environmental research to help them find an Analyst to join their busy lab team.

We are looking for someone with a background in mineralogy and testing of soil and/or asbestos and has used techniques like gravimetric analysis, FTIR and XRD among others.

The successful candidate will receive an excellent benefits package as well as a chance to further develop their technical skills.

The Role:

  • Carrying out analysis of soil and mineral samples
  • Asbestos testing- training can be provided
  • Reporting analytical results and cross checks as required and in line with lab operating procedures
  • Completing routine laboratory support functions as part of the wider team including general housekeeping, apparatus cleaning and maintenance
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving where required
  • Method validation
  • Following the company quality system requirements including compliance with ISO 17025 (UKAS Accredited)
  • Checking and authorising reports written by Laboratory Analysts

Requirements:

  • Relevant scientific degree or equivalent hands on experience in a similar field
  • Experience of testing such as FTIR, XRD, gravimetric analysis and asbestos testing
  • Background in mineralogy
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Experience of working efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of a range of ICT including Microsoft Office and databases
  • Punctual, reliable and aims for high standards in their work
  • Works well as part of a small team
