Behaviour Mentor – SEN/SEMH School πŸ’₯ Location: Salford Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-Time | Term-Time Only Pay: Β£16.11-17.11 per hour Do you have the passion and resilience to support children with additional needs and social, emotional, or mental health challenges? We are looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join a dedicated team in a specialist SEN/SEMH school, supporting children and young people who require additional guidance, structure, and positive role modelling. You\’ll play a vital role in helping students regulate their emotions, re-engage in learning, and develop life skills. Key Responsibilities: Build trusting relationships with pupils who display challenging behaviour De-escalate situations calmly and professionally Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive routines Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment We\’re Looking For: Experience working with children or young people, especially in SEN or SEMH settings Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills Empathy, patience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure A proactive, hands-on approach to support A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) Desirable but not essential: Team Teach, MAPA, or equivalent training Experience in PRUs, alternative provision, or care environments This is more than a job – it\’s a chance to make a lasting impact on some of the most vulnerable young people in education.
