Newcastle College invites applications from dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about education and student progression. We are seeking a qualified and dynamic individual to join our team as a Lecturer. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering and assessing high-quality learning experiences. Your duties include monitoring student retention and progress, implementing timely interventions to ensure all students meet their targets, and maintaining effective communication with parents/guardians, external agencies, and colleagues within the curriculum and support teams. You will also promote high standards in teaching and learning, fostering an environment conducive to student success.
The ideal candidate will possess qualifications at honours degree level or an equivalent industry-recognised standard. Ideally, you will hold a post-16 teaching qualification, along with English and maths qualifications at Level 2, or be committed to achieving these within an agreed timeframe. Experience in delivering effective education/training in Further Education (FE), Higher Education (HE), and/or Apprenticeships, with a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment, is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, digital literacy, and the ability to manage workload effectively are essential. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on demand is also required.
