Nancy Reuben Primary School is a thriving Modern Orthodox Jewish Independent School in Hendon for boys and girls aged 2-11. We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and experienced Room Leader to join our Early Years team. The Room Leader will take responsibility for leading a designated age group room, ensuring high standards of care, education, safety, and wellbeing for all children. The successful candidate will also supervise and support a team of nursery practitioners, promoting best practice and positive outcomes in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and inspire a team of nursery practitioners within the room.
  • Plan, deliver, and monitor age-appropriate, engaging, and educational activities in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Maintain high standards of care and hygiene, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
  • Act as a key person for a group of children, ensuring strong relationships with families and regular updates on children’s progress.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of children’s development, observations, and assessments.
  • Foster positive working relationships with parents, staff, and outside agencies.
  • Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Support the Head of Early Years with the day-to-day running of the setting.
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance within the room and provide mentoring and training as needed.
  • Promote inclusive practice and ensure that each child’s individual needs are recognised and met.
