As Group Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role at the heart of the business, leading all aspects of financial control, reporting, and operations across multiple UK entities. This is a hands-on, high-impact position where you will work closely with senior management to deliver best-in-class financial processes, help drive the implementation of a new ERP system and manage both a talented local team and an established offshore finance function.
- Lead the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements across all group entities in line with relevant accounting standards.
- Oversee the end-to-end production of statutory accounts for all legal entities, including managing the transition of this process from external providers to in-house.
- Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and oversee chart of accounts maintenance and journal entries.
- Play a key role in the selection and implementation of a new ERP system, ensuring seamless integration with financial operations and reporting.
- Drive automation and efficiency through optimal use of financial systems and tools.
- Oversee treasury operations, including cash management, banking relationships, and intercompany funding.
- Ensure timely and accurate intercompany reconciliations and settlements.
- Manage the end-to-end external audit process and ensure timely delivery of audit deliverables.
- Maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Design, implement and maintain robust financial controls, policies and procedures.
- Lead and develop the Financial Operations team, setting clear objectives, providing coaching and supporting career progression.
Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience. Proven leadership skills, with a track record of managing and developing finance teams (ideally both local and offshore). Significant experience in a senior financial control or financial reporting role within a multi-entity business. Strong technical accounting knowledge and a solid/proven understanding of UK accounting standards. Experience of implementing and optimising financial systems, with experience in ERP projects a plus. Excellent communicator, able to present complex financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
