Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner

TRUST: Pennine Care NHS

HOURS: 37.5 hours or part-time considered

MAIN DUTIES:

  • This role is as a band 6 Mental Health Practitioner within the CAMHS Crisis team.
  • You will work alongside senior clinical staff to respond rapidly to requests for assistance when a young person is in crisis.
  • You will contribute to the assessment and management of young people experiencing crisis episodes within a structured Risk Assessment and Risk Reduction framework.
  • You will identify therapeutic goals to support the young person and families/carers, refer to specialist inpatient services as needed, or collaborate with other services to reduce inpatient care.
  • You will develop holistic, safety, and recovery-focused care plans, mobilizing support around the child and family to promote resilience and reduce future crises.
  • As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support young people and families through various pathways, including inreach and assessment models, rapid intervention on 72-hour care pathways, and longer-term interventions over 4-6 weeks.
  • Direct work will take place in clinical environments such as emergency care settings and paediatric wards, as well as community settings like schools and homes.
  • You need a core qualification as a mental health practitioner (qualified nurse), experience in bio-psycho-social risk assessments, safety and care planning, and working within CAMHS.
