Copart are currently recruiting a National Transport Planner to work as part of our team, based at our office in Bedford. The National Transport Planner is responsible for managing the efficient and effective day to day routing of all Copart’s collections, deliveries and returns for the entire national fleet of Transporters and the national network of sub-contractors. You will continually review and increase fleet productivity at the most effective cost, whilst ensuring that all customer SLA’s are either met or exceeded. This is achieved whilst maintaining the highest standards of customer service to both our external and internal customers.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Cost effective daily route scheduling through PTV Route Optimiser.
- Create daily reports to analyse and improve collection and delivery performance & productivity.
- Always maintain routing software settings to achieve optimum performance.
- Achieve and exceed internal KPI targets.
- Engage with subcontractors and yards to maintain appropriate performance levels.
- Provide monthly reports detailing MPM, Fleet productivity and own driver & sub haul usage and costs.
Essential attributes
- Previous route planning experience using route software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to create meaningful Excel reports.
- Demonstrable experience of working to achieve or exceed KPI targets.
- Proven ability in identifying new ways of working and making improvements with route scheduling.
- Fully proficient with Excel & MS packages.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable attributes
- Experience of working in the vehicle recovery industry.
- Knowledge of Apex Rescue and Recovery communication platform.
- CPC Qualified.
- One year experience of using PTV or a similar routing software, preferably in a multi-site operation.
