We are looking to hire a talented, hands-on Senior WordPress Developer who is interested in working on Green Street’s news platforms including (https://greenstreetnews.com) among others. You will be working on an Agile team dedicated to building and improving this modern web platform that meshes best-in-class news and data into an intuitive UI.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the broader technology team and stakeholders to support and build new sites and platforms for our Green Street News Business
  • Translate user stories into polished applications
  • Work with business stakeholders to provide end-to-end solutions, ultimately developing applications – from creation of new product to launch
  • Participate in full-stack code and architecture reviews
  • Play a key role in platform build-out for several new News geographies
  • Work with outside contractors, including Human Made, when designing and developing the news sites

Candidate Profile:

  • 4+ years of professional WordPress experience in an Agile team environment using JavaScript, PHP, SQL, HTML, and CSS to build and deploy WordPress applications
  • Experience developing scalable and configurable web applications using WordPress
  • Experience with Altis (managed WordPress platform) from Human Made a significant plus
  • Experience with API’s and Authentication Engines (Auth0)
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience
  • Proficiency with SCM (e.g. Git, Bitbucket)
  • Proficiency with REST-based APIs
  • Enjoy problem solving, have excellent communication skills and demonstrate impeccable attention to detail
  • Willingness and desire to keep up with new web technologies, languages, standards, practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience through coding bootcamp

Nice-to-Haves:

  • User Experience and User Interface Design
  • Experience creating custom data visualizations (e.g. Highcharts, D3.js, SVG)

Compensation, Benefits and Work Authorization:

In addition to a basic salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements). Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions. Green Street will not sponsor or transfer employment work visas for this position. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United Kingdom without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
