The Company is a multimillion turnover market leading ambient food wholesale business supplying to grocery retailers and trade.

The Job involves reporting to the MD and managing a sales team of 5. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting market research to identify potential clients, market trends and competitors.
  • Analysing customer needs and assessing the market demand for products.
  • Meeting with prospective new customers as well as existing customer accounts to identify strategic opportunities that align with new business growth objectives.
  • Developing and implementing strategic business plans to expand the customer base.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients for new business opportunities.
  • Regularly reviewing objectives and sales targets, and working towards achieving or exceeding them.
  • Developing pricing strategies and negotiating contracts with clients.
  • Staying updated with the latest industry trends, and having an in-depth knowledge of the Company’s products and services.
  • Attending industry events, trade shows and conferences to network with potential clients and partners.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with key industry stakeholders.
  • Preparing detailed proposals and quotations for new business opportunities from existing and potential new clients.
  • Customising product offerings based on customer requirements.
  • Negotiating and drafting contract terms and conditions with clients.
  • Preparing regular sales and business development reports for the leadership team.
  • Analysing sales data and trends to make informed business decisions.
  • Ensuring sales activities comply with legal and ethical standards.
  • Upholding the Company’s reputation and values in all interactions.
  • Supervising and motivating team members, managing performance and assisting with all people management issues.
  • Supporting with project and other initiatives as and when required.

The Candidate should have multichannel FMCG experience and previous experience in a Sales Director or Sales leadership role with proven leadership skills. They should possess the ability to develop and execute sales strategies, win new business, and manage key stakeholder relationships successfully. Demonstrable and proven sales and business development skills are essential, along with the ability to negotiate effectively, close deals and secure contracts. The candidate should have commercial dexterity to adjust strategies and approaches in response to changing circumstances, and demonstrable success in meeting or exceeding sales targets while building long-term client relationships. They should also be able to conduct market research, analyse data and identify trends to make informed business decisions. A clean driving licence with the ability to travel to visit potential clients and conduct other role requirements is necessary.

The package includes a salary of £90,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Pension.
