MCS Group is delighted to be partnering up with a global professional services firm as they look to add a Software Asset Management specialist to their team here in Belfast.

The Role:

We are looking for a Software Asset Management Specialist to join our clients Technology Services team. You will work closely with the Software Asset Manager to develop strategies for effective IT Asset and software licensing management. Your expertise will help optimise software investments, mitigate risks, and support the firm’s global IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main liaison between IT and third-party software suppliers.
  • Advise on software licensing, ensuring optimised and compliant usage.
  • Conduct internal licensing audits and assist with vendor licensing audits.
  • Analyse software usage data and develop effective license positions.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, In-House Legal, and senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate data in the SAM tool and ensure data integrity.
  • Educate internal teams on SAM processes and best practices.

About You:

  • 3+ years of experience in software licensing or software asset management.
  • Hands-on experience managing licensing for at least one Tier 1 vendor (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, SAP).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex licensing models.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • CSAM certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a global organisation is a plus.
