Overview: We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Product Safety Engineer to join BAE Systems Naval Ships in Scotstoun. This is a key engineering position, playing a critical role in leading and shaping safety case strategies across complex maritime defence programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and influence the development of product safety strategies and arguments.
- Maintain and update the SMARTerâ„¢ Hazard Log and provide regular statistical reporting.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding safety assurance deliverables.
- Support and oversee hazard identification (HAZID) workshops and safety reviews.
- Create Product Safety Management Plans (PSMPs), Safety Case Reports (SCRs), and Safety Arguments (SDSAs).
- Coordinate with Technical Authorities to ensure quality and timely delivery of all safety documentation.
- Ensure alignment with MOD and industry standards such as DSA-02, JSP430, Def Stan 00-56, MIL-STD-882E, and BS EN 61508.
