Simpson Millar is one of the nation’s leading consumer law firms and we are looking for an experienced Litigator to join our EL/PL team on a permanent basis.
This is a fee-earning role managing a litigated caseload of employer’s and public liability personal injury claims from denial to settlement or trial in an established, forward-thinking Legal 500 firm.
This role is on a hybrid working arrangement with 1 day per week in our Manchester office.
As an experienced EL/PL Litigator you will be responsible for:
• Managing a caseload of denied EL/PL personal injury claims from denial to settlement or trial
• Making pre-action disclosure applications
• Assessing liability and disclosure on denied claims and deciding whether to proceed
• Accurately identifying risks and referring concerns to your team leader
• Obtaining and valuing medical evidence
• Preparing comprehensive schedules of loss to support the client’s claim
• Handling client discussions regarding valuation report
• Negotiating with the Defendant’s solicitor post-issue of Court proceedings
You will need to have experience in handling a caseload of Litigated EL/PL files, a strong billing record, sound knowledge and application of the CPR and excellent drafting skills.
