Buckingham Futures is currently recruiting for a pivotal fixed-term role in South London: Senior / Principal Environmental Health Officer (Food) – Fixed Term.

About the role: Step into a leadership position where you’ll oversee and manage food safety enforcement activities during a crucial interim period. This role offers the chance to shape the delivery of high-impact food safety interventions, mentor junior officers, and lead with real authority across a dynamic food safety team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the food safety team
  • Overseeing inspections and ratings of food premises
  • Providing technical guidance on complex cases
  • Ensuring compliance with the Food Safety Act 1990 and related legislation
  • Preparing enforcement notices and prosecution files

To be considered, candidates must demonstrate competence in the Inspection of Food Establishments (Cluster 4) and have completed at least 10 hours of Food Core CPD, in line with the latest Food Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance. Before starting, we will require copies of your relevant qualifications, CPD certificates, and your EHORB/EHRB (or equivalent) registration on file.
