Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for accuracy and efficiency? Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join our team working within a school in Birmingham.

About The Role

As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the financial operations of the school. Your expertise will ensure financial processes run smoothly and in compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing accounts payable and receivable within the school setting
  • Reconciling bank statements and financial records
  • Processing invoices and payroll in Sage 50
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Assisting with budgeting and financial reporting for the school
  • Supporting audit processes and compliance documentation
  • Providing financial support and advice to relevant school departments

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in finance or accounting roles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Experience with Sage 50 accounting software
  • AAT qualification (or equivalent) is essential
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant experience in a school environment is preferred
