Sector: Engineering Design Consultancy

Location: Holborn, London

Hybrid: 4 days in the office (will likely reduce to 3 days after probation)

VisionFR is delighted to be assisting a highly successful, award winning international engineering design consultancy to find a bright and switched on Finance Assistant who will report to the Financial Controller. As Finance Assistant you will build and maintain good working relationships with clients, suppliers, staff and Directors. This is a progressive role with ample opportunity to develop yourself.

Finance Assistant Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and issuing sales invoices
  • Credit control
  • Maintain bank reconciliations and analyse bank transactions
  • Maintaining the purchase ledger by uploading and logging staff expense claims and purchase invoices
  • Company credit card maintenance & reconciliations
  • Help maintain the group project management system
  • Bank cheques received
  • Adhere to the company's financial policies and procedures
  • Cover answering and distribute incoming telephone calls, take messages and answer queries
  • Ad hoc tasks that you will be required to do, so this job description is not exhaustive

Finance Assistant key skills and experience required

  • Recent experience working in an accounting practice or finance team preferably within the construction industry (6 months – 1 year)
  • Ideal role for someone who is a recent 6th Form or College Leaver keen to study AAT
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel essential
  • Able to multi-task and work on own initiative with minimum supervision
  • Able to plan and manage workload effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to prioritise

  • Friendly with ability to work with others and grow relationships
