The Strategy & Performance Transformation team is part of KPMG’s rapidly expanding Strategy Group, which delivers value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights and executing with investor-grade rigour. We are a diverse team of over 150 practitioners, working collaboratively with and orchestrating KPMG’s broad set of capabilities within our Deal Advisory business. For Strategy & Performance Transformation Our Strategy and Performance Transformation team works closely with c-suite and senior executives to grow, transform and transact whilst adding and protecting value for shareholders, employees and society. Responsibilities To be an effective Associate within our Strategy & Performance Transformation , applicants will be expected to: Work as part of a team to address complex market, strategic, operational and organisational issues for Energy clients Conduct primary and secondary research to develop insightful analysis for clients Design and execute analysis to support the development of evidence-based insights Develop opportunities with business cases and implementation plans for our clients, underpinned by robust review and analysis Independently own and drive work, taking on the responsibility to managing small teams as required and supporting junior team member development Develop close working relationships with the client, often working in joint teams at client sites, in the development and delivery of recommendations Contribute to business development and thought leadership, to support practice development Key Competencies At KPMG, we seek candidates who can thrive in our high-performance culture and can demonstrate the following behaviours: Deliver Impact: Make sound decisions : Exercises sound business judgment when making decisions Foster innovation : Embraces a culture of innovation and experimentation to create value Apply a strategic perspective : Uses diverse sets of inputs to develop a broad perspective on business and people issues Seek Growth: Take opportunities to learn and adapt : Uses insights and self-reflection to build capability and embrace new challenges Develop and motivate others : Engages teams, instils confidence, and coaches people to find meaning in their work and achieve exceptional results Build collaborative relationships : Establishes strong relationships internally and externally and builds wide and productive networks Inspire Trust: Drive quality :Delivers high-quality products and exceptional service that provide value Act ethically and responsibly :Behaves ethically and encourages others to do the same Advocate for Equality :Creates opportunities to address inequity and enables all people to feel like they belong Your Experience Successful applicants will demonstrate the following: Work Experience: Strong deal, commercial and/or strategy experience in the energy sector. 3-6 years experience working in a leading strategy house, Big 4 firm, public sector organisation or strategy / development team in industry Strong foundational understanding of the value drivers within the Energy Sector Experience of leading project workstreams and taking responsibility for small teams Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with team members and broader (internal and external) stakeholders Technical skills: A high level of applied thinking and intellectual curiosity Strong numerical and analytical skills, combined with sound commercial acumen Experience working in the ENR sector (either internally or as a consultant) A pragmatic approach to analysis and problem solving, with the ability to structure client issues and implement conceptual models in complex environments An ability to assess information and distil into key strategic insights, as well as convey these clearly and succinctly in both oral and written form To be comfortable in developing analysis and opportunities in often ambiguous or changing client situations An ability to work both collaboratively and individually, with a willingness to constructively challenge clients, peers and leaders To be able to form excellent working relationships, both within KPMG and with clients Flexibility to adapt to a variety of different engagement types, working hours and work environments and locations Highest degree of personal and business integrity Additional language skills would be a bonus KPMG Overview: KPMG in the UK is part of a global network of firms that offers Audit, Legal, Tax and Advisory services.
