Main Responsibilities:

  • Management and control of complex Global Construction & Real Estate claims.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to understand and meet their business requirements.
  • Provide outstanding service and technical advice, expediting and negotiating best claims settlements.
  • Enter claims advice and settlements on in-house, Lloyd’s and Company market systems (Global XB, CLASS etc).
  • Contribute to business development with recommendations during marketing and renewal meetings.
  • Develop and foster relationships with clients to attract new business and retain existing clients.
  • Collate and produce ad hoc statistics and reports for insurers, clients and Brokers.
  • Monitor and report legal and market developments to facilitate the prompt and professional handling of all claims.

Leadership/Management:

  • Work closely with the claim team to develop a strong and realistic strategic plan for the team, ensuring this is in line with the overall claims strategy.
  • Align the team to this plan and drive delivery.
  • Provide leadership and guidance and manage the team responsibilities and be accountable for service delivery.
  • Be responsible for the team’s performance against service standards and take remedial action as appropriate.
  • Hold regular team meetings.
  • Act as focal point for market intelligence.
  • Be actively involved in recruitment/promotions/remuneration for the team.
  • Ensure that all staff within the team are trained, competent and motivated.
  • Conduct regular appraisals in accordance with timescales and guidance set by the Company.
  • Oversee the claims volume handled by the team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Desirable - CERT CII or ACII qualified or relevant qualification.
  • 8+ years with a broker, insurer or loss adjuster handling complex Global Construction claims.
  • Strong experience in Builders Risk, General Liability, Professional Liability, CAR, Surety Bonds.
