Datacenter People is a specialized recruitment company working with a Global Main Contractor to recruit a Planning and Scheduling Director to be a part of their Global Business Unit. You will be responsible for leading the Planning & Scheduling function for the Global Data Center business. A crucial part of the role will be fostering a lean management approach, and leading collaboration across the regional, functional and company planning resources within the Group.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support & oversight with project set-up (including promotion of the GBU Project Planning & Scheduling strategy) to ensure processes, systems, tools & effective control are consistently implemented at the earliest possible stage & maintained across the business.
- Ensure the implementation of planning across entire project life cycles from estimating initial baseline performance metrics, determining the current status of projects, estimating future potential of projects, identifying any variances and proposing appropriate action to be taken to recover any deviations.
- Collaborate closely with corporate, regional area & regional business unit personnel & teams to ensure aligned messaging and approach.
- Global travel to offices and project sites as well as customer meetings.
- Assist global projects with onboarding and development of planning and scheduling resources.
- Analyse and highlight the overall schedule impact of any variance/change order and participate in defining work package breakdown, identifying scope of works etc.
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Experience in the Data Centre industry.
- Proven expertise in Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management (EPCM) or EPC environments.
- Experience in a medium or large company in an operational role as part of the management team.
- Specific experience in key technical areas such as civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical will be an advantage in fulfilling the responsibilities of the role.
- P6 Scheduling tool competencies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries.
- Proven track record of project control delivery & software/tools.
