Our client is a highly regarded, privately-owned original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Operating from a state-of-the-art facility in North Yorkshire, it serves a loyal and diverse UK customer base, while also exporting to markets including the USA, Europe and the Middle East. Innovation and long-term partnerships are at the heart of its approach, with growing investment in two emerging eCommerce businesses adding further dynamism. With ambitious plans for the future and an exciting new phase of product launches, the business is now seeking a strategic, commercially minded leader to help shape and implement a bold vision for growth.
The Role
As Managing Director, you will define and execute commercial and operational strategies to ensure long-term success. Your role will include setting clear targets, driving continuous improvement, managing operations, identifying growth opportunities, and fostering collaboration across teams.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of successful commercial leadership within the manufacturing sector, with experience in driving profitable growth and operational transformation. They should be degree-educated in Manufacturing or Engineering (or have equivalent experience) and demonstrate strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and financial awareness. Expertise in high- and low-volume manufacturing methods and operational excellence techniques is also essential.
The candidate should be a positive and emotionally intelligent leader with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach suited to a growing business.
