About This Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Process Engineer for our Cans department at Botcherby located in Carlisle (UK) which is one of Crown’s biggest plants in Europe. With 3 can lines installed and the potential to grow further with planned investment, making this an exciting time to join the Cans Manufacturing team.

Key Accountabilities Will Be:

  • To support the Manufacturing Manager by leading, designing, implementing and optimising the efficiency of the manufacturing processes in line with all key KPI’s.
  • Work in partnership with safety, production, quality and engineering to drive standards.
  • As part of the management team take an active role in instructing, directing and encouraging shift teams.
  • Be a safety leader in all aspects of our operation.
  • Assist in establishing best practice and the implementation across the organisation.
  • Drive continuous improvement as the ambassador for the function in the cans department.

The Ideal Candidate Should Have:

  • A degree in an engineering discipline with strong continuous improvement skills and/or managerial experience at an appropriate level, however experience in the manufacturing process of the relevant department with a level 3 engineering qualification will be considered.
  • Good awareness of problem solving and improvement tools with a track record of driving root-cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Skills and a proven record in delivering training.

Desirable:

  • Project management skills
  • Knowledge of ISO standards
  • Lean Six-sigma black belt
