The Staff Accountant will work to provide various levels of support to client accounting and taxation reporting. This role will be responsible for filing obligations, bookkeeping and experience in preparing personal and corporate tax returns.
About the Role / Key Accountabilities:
- Preparation of working papers to support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
- Responsible for full cycle accounting duties, including but not limited to recording journal entries, reconciling key accounts, financial statement preparation and analysis, audit preparation with external and internal auditors, etc.
- Preparing HST returns and coordinating remittance payments for WSIB and corporate taxes.
- Reviewing and recording expense reports in the general ledger and resolving discrepancies.
- Ad-hoc administrative duties including filing, and handling customer/vendor inquiries.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to work with and manage confidential information and use independent judgment.
- CPA designation or in pursuit of such designation.
- 2+ years of experience working in a similar role.
- Previous experience in supply chain logistics environment or has worked in an accounting firm preferred.
