We are recruiting for a Senior Field Service Engineer to work within a field service environment and also can be workshop based. The role is with a well-established recycling company seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Shredder Service Engineer to join its team in a combined workshop and field-based role. Possible one day per month away from home.
The position involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing mobile plant machinery, including mobile shredders, balers, and trommels, powered by diesel engines or electricity. The role requires travel across the UK to attend breakdowns and conduct maintenance, with work based at the workshop in Darwen. A full UK driving licence (maximum of six points) is essential, along with a strong, customer-focused attitude.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a background in mobile plant machinery, who enjoys a varied role combining workshop-based tasks with fieldwork. It would suit someone who thrives in problem-solving, can diagnose and repair faults efficiently, and enjoys engaging with customers. Key Responsibilities:- Service, maintain, and repair machinery both in the workshop and on-site.
- Attend breakdowns across the UK, diagnosing and fixing issues efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide technical support and training to customers as required.
- Collaborate with the Service Manager to identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and additional training.
