Locum Consultant Medical Oncologist Melanoma Swansea University Health Board is seeking to appoint to a 10 session Medical Oncologist post in Melanoma, who has a commitment to high quality patient care, high level research, innovative service models, delivery of performance targets and excellence in education/training. Main duties of the job Melanoma The postholder will be an integral member of the melanoma team, working with 1 other oncologist and a senior clinical fellow. The team is supported by a specialist nurse and pharmacist. The postholder will provide a comprehensive systemic therapy service for patients with melanoma. The postholder will work closely with the skin MDT, including dermatology and plastic surgery. The candidate will be seeing the region of 80 new patients and 400 follow-up patients per year. About us Swansea Bay University Health Board has responsibility for the health of around 390,000 people in the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea areas, with a budget of around £1 billion and employing 12,500 people. We are a University Health Board working in partnership with Swansea University, Swansea School of Medicine, the School of Health Science and the Institute of Life Science. The Health Board has three major hospitals providing a range of services: Morriston and Singleton hospitals in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot hospital in Baglan, Port Talbot. The Health Board is part of A Regional Collaboration for Health (ARCH), which is a partnership with Hywel Dda UHB and Swansea University, aimed at improving the wellbeing and wealth of Southwest Wales. Swansea is Wales’ second largest city and sits on the five-mile sweep of Swansea Bay.
