The Anchor is a new program that provides a 24/7 facility-based crisis center for those experiencing a psychiatric/substance related mental health crisis. The center serves as an alternative to hospitalization and provides a safe space with open recliners or individual calm rooms for undergoing a severe impairment of functioning because of a precipitating situation or personal distress - in which the crisis is expected to be resolved within 23 hours.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Continuous observation and monitoring
  • Crisis evaluation
  • Brief intervention and de-escalation
  • Referrals to wrap-around services
  • Coordination with supports

Position Specifics

  • Location: Crisis Services Office - Abingdon, VA
  • Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Wednesday 1:00pm – 11:00pm and Thursday – Saturday 11:00am – 9:00pm
  • Compensation: $20.50/$21.50 (Night Shift Differential) – Commensurate with education/experience.
  • Sign-On Bonus: $3,000 Sign-On Bonus!!!

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field.

Experience: One-year case management experience and registered as a Qualified Mental Health Professional – Trainee required. Registered as a Qualified Mental Health Professional – Adult and residential or crisis experience preferred.
