We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Fibre Fabricator to join a leading manufacturing company based in Southampton.
The primary role of the Fibre Fabricator will involve using specialist equipment to fabricate preforms and prepare glass ready for drawing into fibre.
Responsibilities
- Fabricating preforms and preparing glass ready for drawing into fibre, including:
- Operating machinery and controls
- Following product specification instructions, completing and maintaining logs, spreadsheets, and databases as indicated in work instructions
- Reviewing test data
- Adhering to strict Health & Safety regulations
Ideal Experience
- The ideal candidate will be someone who has good attention to detail and accuracy, is reliable, keen to learn, and PC literate.
- A good understanding of complex machinery and equipment would be beneficial.
- Any fibre optics experience is an advantage; however, full training will be provided.
Shift Pattern
- Week 1 - Days (4-day week)
- Week 2 - Nights (3-day week)
Salary £33,600 which includes the 20% shift uplift.
