Company Overview: We are currently working with a leading M&E contractor delivering high-quality projects primarily across the West Midlands. With a strong reputation for excellence, they are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Construction Site Document Controller to support the site team in maintaining organised and compliant documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Role Overview: As a Construction Site Document Controller, you will play a vital role in managing, distributing, and organising all technical documents, drawings, and records on site. You will work closely with project director, project / site managers, engineers and subcontractors to ensure document control procedures are followed and that the most current information is readily available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain document control systems for the construction site.
  • Receive, log, and distribute project documents including drawings, RFIs, method statements, permits, and reports.
  • Ensure version control and proper archiving of documentation.
  • Liaise with the project team and subcontractors to ensure timely submission and approval of documentation.
  • Track document progress and provide regular status updates to management.
  • Maintain site records in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Support the preparation of handover documentation and O&M manuals.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the construction sector.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency with document management systems (e.g., Autodesk cloud, Asite or similar).
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of construction terminology and project workflows.

Desirable:

  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards related to documentation and quality control.
