The Business: Our client is a fast-growing, private equity-backed energy services platform, supporting thousands of commercial customers with access to cleaner, cheaper energy solutions. With strong leadership, a differentiated model, and a scalable platform, the business is entering a period of accelerated growth through acquisitions in both the UK and internationally. One UK-based acquisition is entering due diligence, with a healthy pipeline of further opportunities both domestically and abroad. Two international deals are being led by the investor but require senior-level execution support given their complexity.
To support this activity, we are hiring an Interim Head of M&A to lead transaction execution, develop deal processes, and act as a strategic partner to the CEO and investors. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role that would suit a commercially-minded M&A professional with experience in private equity-backed environments.
- Transaction Management: Lead end-to-end execution of M&A transactions, from origination support and diligence through to completion and integration planning.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with the CEO, senior leadership team, private equity investors, advisors, and target company stakeholders. Coordinate financial, legal, commercial, and operational due diligence across multiple workstreams.
- Integration Planning: Partner with internal teams to ensure post-deal integration is considered during execution and supported post-close.
- Market Intelligence: Maintain a strong view of the market landscape and support strategic pipeline development in collaboration with the investor and management. Support preparation of investment papers and board materials; refine internal M&A processes to ensure repeatable deal execution.
Significant M&A execution experience, ideally gained within a private equity-backed company, investment bank, transaction services, or corporate development environment. High commercial acumen and excellent communication skills. International M&A exposure and energy/services sector experience preferred but not essential.
