As our new Data and AI Governance Coordinator, you’ll play a central role in designing, implementing, and evolving our enterprise-wide Data and AI Governance Framework. What you’ll be doing:
- Build relationships with key data stakeholders across the business to drive adoption and champion governance practices.
- Help design and implement a pragmatic Data & AI Governance Framework rooted in DAMA principles and aligned with SBS’s strategic goals.
- Support the definition of data ownership and stewardship, helping teams understand and manage their critical data.
- Run governance forums and working groups, bringing together voices from across the organisation to shape our data culture.
- Define policies, standards, and processes to help ensure consistency, compliance, and clarity regarding data and AI usage.
- Monitor data risks, provide oversight, and contribute to robust data quality controls and issue management practices.
- Support the development of data dictionaries, business metadata and lineage, making our data more transparent and accessible.
- Drive a cultural shift toward becoming a Data-Informed and Centred Enterprise (DICE).
- Stay ahead of regulations like GDPR and the evolving AI Act, ensuring our framework stays fit for purpose.
What are we looking for?
- A natural relationship-builder with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
- 3+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Quality, ideally in Financial Services or tech-driven environments.
- Hands-on experience working with governance frameworks and embedding data culture within complex organisations.
- A proactive, pragmatic mindset and an eye for continuous improvement.
- Organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams.
