Suitable candidates with a relevant childcare qualification are sought to join our supply list. You should have recent experience of working with young children in a structured context.
Role Details: If called upon on a supply basis, you would be involved in delivering a flexible, high-quality care and education-centred service that meets the needs of young children and their families.
Qualifications:
- To be appointed at Grade E: You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy, a minimum of 2 years of volunteering experience involving children, and achieve an HNC in Childhood Practice, SVQ Level 3 (SCQF7) Social Services (Children and Young People) or other recognized qualification enabling registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner (Day Care of Children) within 3 years of taking up the post.
- To be appointed at Grade F: You are required to achieve an HNC in Childhood Practice, SVQ Level 3 (SCQF7), or other recognized qualification, and have at least one year's experience working with young children in a dedicated early learning and childcare setting. You should also be registered with the SSSC as a Practitioner in Day Care of Children or register within 6 months of employment.
Additional Requirements: This post is subject to membership of the PVG Scheme. You should be able to travel efficiently between various work locations within Orkney.
