A four year apprenticeship with an in-depth structured training programme based upon the repair of industrial rotating equipment, gaining valuable engineering skills throughout. Wage £15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices Check minimum wage rates (opens in new tab) Training course Maintenance and operations engineering technician (level 3) Hours Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:30. 40 hours a week Friday 1 August 2025 Duration 4 years 1 Work Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience. What you\’ll do at work Year one spent full time at IPS (college) and years 2 – 4 spent in each MKE(employer) department, gaining valuable engineering experience and skills from experienced mentors throughout the business. Your duties will include: Building of Electrical Panels Gaining an understanding of circuit diagram and drawings Assisting with fault finding, electrical test and diagnosis Gaining knowledge of variable speed drives and switchgear components Where you\’ll work Unit 15b Dolphin Park Upper Field Road Eurolink Industrial Estate Sittingbourne Kent ME10 3UP Training Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills. College or training organisation IPS INTERNATIONAL LIMITED Your training course Maintenance and operations engineering technician (level 3) Year 1 of the Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard, the learner will attend four days a week within IPS Rochester workshop completing practical skills (Performing Engineering Operations) and one day a week studying the Technical Certificate. In Year 2, the Apprentice moves to day-release and will attend IPS one day a week to continue the Technical Certificate. Starting in Year 2 and continuing until completion in Year 4. The Apprentice will continue to receive regular training contact with IPS all throughout the programme Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician qualification upon successful completion of the apprenticeship Requirements GCSE or equivalent in: Requirements Essential qualifications GCSE or equivalent in: English, Maths, IT and Science (grade 4/C and above) Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have.
